Tapping / Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Tapping (also known as Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT) is a treatment to defuse stress, fear, anxiety and trauma, and to overcome guilt, shame, lack of forgiveness, phobia and limitations. It is not hypnotherapy or psychotherapy but the process combines talking about your issue (guided by Steve) with physical tapping on key meridian points around your chest, face and hands.
Acupressure is a very similar technique based on the meridian energy principles. The difference between the two is tapping involves discussive interaction with a client while you both peform quick, frequent tapping processes around 7 points on the upper body, whereas acupressure involves long, continuous pressure on any number of over 365 pressure points, without discussing the client's condition during the hold.
Tapping is such a simple and effective method that often after one or two sessions, you will have learnt enough to use it regularly on a self-help basis whenever an emotional issue, fear or phobia occurs in your life. Steve can suggest tapping exercises for you to complete between treatments, at home.
As well as relieving specific problems, EFT has a cumulative effect on many people. Life becomes easier for the person as they become more grounded and in control of their negative emotions. EFT is a complementary therapy and so is not used to replace normal medical or psychological treatment but can act to supplement the healing effect of such treatments.
Steve is a Level 2 practitioner of EFT in Southampton and he attended the 4th and 6th Annual World Tapping Summits in 2012 and 2014. Steve has tapping routines and spoken phrases to deal with a huge variety of common conditions.
Whatsapp, Skype, Zoom, Facetime, FaceChat and other platforms allow online, live video sessions of 1 on 1 Tapping (EFT) with Steve, if you prefer not to come into the suite.
